Touch Reading Application September 2016 Blog

Over the past few years we’ve seen an unprecedented explosion in the use of the eLearning Mobile Apps. Today you can get a mobile App for just about anything and on any subject, be it as simple as learning the ABC’s or as vast as learning the Holy Quran. These eLearning Mobile Apps have or may have a myriad of advantages or unique features – However, one commonality or difficulty that most of these Apps have is that they are either mostly in English and the ones that are in our local Pakistani languages i.e. Urdu etc., they are no way at all up to the mark. The users have limited options, where they can only “read “the books just like a traditional book only on a smart device.

That’s where TouchReading comes in. we started off with a mission, and it was quite simple actually; “Every Child – Everywhere”. We just wanted to re-instil the love of reading & learning our very own languages in our children, by bringing their favourite books in their mother tongues from traditional hardcover format to their iPads and tablets.

So what makes us different than any other player, Let’s read a user testimonial for perfect understanding;

“My Favourite part of this product is the colour coding of the words, and the fact that it accommodates both English and Urdu. This helps with visual and audio recognition. I also love that my students can touch a word and the app will read it to them. Sometimes my struggling readers like to try to do stories that are just too difficult for them. With this feature, they have a lot of support”

Yes, that’s exactly what it does, that a child while reading a book can touch any letter or word on the screen, and that word will be readout in clear audio to the child, that will help him learn the exact pronunciation of the word or a sentence, or even the whole page.

TouchReading books provide an innovative, interactive and rewarding reading experience that promise success and self-confidence for children. The children are able to read and listen to the books at the same time, i.e. any word they touch, they will be able to listen to the sound and pronunciation of that word, hence enabling children to feel confident as they enter the world of reading.

The use of application is very easy, to see the Application Demo, please see the video below;

This is just the start of the journey for us. In the coming weeks and months, you will see us releasing new books on a monthly basis. One of the books I’m particularly excited about coming very soon is Cartoon Qaeda, in my opinion it is one of the best tools for parents who live abroad and want to see their children learn their mother tongue Urdu.
